The Power of Music. A path to a higher self awareness.

Music is transformative and when words fail to move, music is the means.

Meet Rob “the Drummer” Gottfried, who uses his tremendous skills as a musician to connect with youth around the world, sending a message of hope and inspiration while denouncing drugs and bullying, leading to improved self-esteem and pursuing your passion to “Be the BEST You Can Be”.

At an early age, Rob devoted his life to helping others and found the way through music.  He pursued three majors in college; psychology, philosophy and music, and worked hard to turn his passion into a lifelong commitment.

What makes Rob the Drummer different than other youth motivational speakers?  How does Rob make a genuine and lasting impact on the struggling youth of this generation?  Youth growing up in a climate of broken homes and broken educational systems, surrounded with artificial feel good drugs and a cultural and political climate in a confusing world that they want no part of.

Rob says, “The only thing that gets me across is that I go where they live and they can feel who I am and drums is a great equalizer. If you have it, no matter your age, you’ve got it and everyone can feel it. Kids pick up on the nonverbal cues and they can feel it. I capture their attention and gain their trust so they listen and may open up to a behavioral change.  I want to give them hope.”

“When you are intensely in a flow from a drum, you are not anywhere else.  You are exactly in the moment.  You are there.  If anything, the kids are picking up on my consciousness.  I want them to pick up on my vibration, where I am, and I get them to come there because I am sending out, hopefully, a clear and a strong wave, trying to send my emotions and spirits through it, and that is why they feel who I am and begin to accept me, which is why they might actually accept what I say.”

Rob realizes that kids in today’s world need someone to feel like they are connecting with for continued hope.  He said many middle schoolers and high schoolers he meets have already given up any kind of dream they had.  They have turned to other means to fill the void.  But Rob the Drummer provokes them and encourages them with his message that following your dream is possible through determination and practice, just like becoming a great drummer.

Following his shows, Rob stays in touch through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and his website, www.robthedrummer.com. Rob’s commitment is the real deal and in addition to continuing his numerous performances to reach the youth, his next goal is creating a video game to reinforce his message of hope and finding your passion.

Rob is a nationally acclaimed drummer and has played with many popular artists over the years and has performed at the White House.  Rob the Drummer performs in schools and community theaters around the country and around the globe.  He has appeared on “Sesame Street” and other children’s shows, and is currently guest starring on the nationally syndicated children’s television show, “Ariel & Zoey & Eli, Too” as himself, Rob the Drummer.

If I could create a modern day superhero, Rob is the superhero come to life.  (And Rob has an avator to prove it!)
